EARACHE RECORDS Announces CODEBREAKER Licensing Deal
October 24, 2004Earache Records have signed a licensing deal with fast-rising U.K. label Codebreaker Records for the North American territory. The deal will see releases from the likes of ZATOKREV, ABANDON and FIGURE OF MERIT released across North America, and subsequent albums unleashed by Codebreaker will all see a full U.S. release.
Codebreaker Records, despite being a young label, has already achieved notable acclaim with its debut releases, and will continue to unearth new and distinct acts for future releases, including new signees DEADBIRD from Arkansas, and HYATARI from West Virginia. With Earache's well-established U.S. operation and national distribution behind the scenes, coupled with the label's 15-year experience of breaking numerous genre-defining acts including MORBID ANGEL, NAPALM DEATH, THE HAUNTED, AKERCOCKE and HATE ETERNAL, both sides see a healthy future pushing extreme music forward.
Commenting on the new deal, Codebreaker label head Duncan Dinsdale said: "Codebreaker Records is very pleased to ink this unsavoury union for North America. Earache Records is the one label that really does understand the nature of what makes a challenging, extreme and truly independent label. Having their history and experience behind Codebreaker is everything that we could have hoped for. Earache believe in our aesthetic and were not afraid to take us on board at the ground level — so we're excited to take our vision into the future with them."
Earache's U.S. label manager Alasdair Dawson added: "Duncan has proven time and time again that he really has an amazing vision and talent when it comes to discovering new musical acts. We are very excited about the opportunity to work with him and the artists on Codebreaker Records."
